[1966]GITS New Members

So... you probably got here because you asked a [1966] member if you could join our "clan".

Good choice!

First though, you may want to know a few things about us, and our members before you decide if you still want to join.

ABOUT THE GITS

  • [1966]GITS were "founded" about 3 years ago by a small group of like-minded Age of Empires players from the UK who wanted to play games of AOE with people of a similar standard.
    We began playing other online games and then... Day of Defeat (a WWII half-life add-on).
    Since then we have dabbled in Unreal, Quake, Grand Prix Legends, Warcraft... and much more. These days, Battlefield 1942 seems to be our favourite tipple.
  • We have no strict age or location criteria, but all present members are aged 22 to *ahem* 50(ish) and are based in the UK. (Organising games is much easier if you are all in the same time-zone).
  • We are always looking to expand the games we play, and improve our clan.

WHAT WE DO

  • Play lots of online games
  • Exchange tips, information, banter on our website's forum and chat in our IRC room
  • Play fairly and try to help each other when we can

WHAT WE DON'T DO

  • Cheat, use (excessive) offensive language / behaviour or generally act like the fools we bought our own server to escape from.

So... if you are looking for an "L33T C1@n" to show off how good you are, call everything you don't like "gay" or want to compete with the finest in the land, then you have found exactly the wrong clan.

But, if you are over 18 and just want to play games online for fun with a bunch of friendly guys who are willing to help and have a laugh... then fill out the form below and let us know a bit about you.

WHAT NEXT?
When you click "Submit" your application gets emailed to all our "Premium Members" (those who help pay towards the website / server) who will have a quick vote and email you back with an answer.

Once you are "approved" you can register with the forum(s) and start playing under the name:
[1966]whateveryouchose[TRIAL]

The [TRIAL] should remain on the end of your name for 1 month.

This is NOT us trying you out to see if you are good enough for the clan, it is just to see if you fit in and don't break our code-of-conduct. (cheating, excessive swearing, being a tit etc).
After the 4 weeks, remind us and then (unless there are any objections and you still like our "clan") then you will become a full-time [1966]'r. Well done!

Once you are a full member, you will have access to extra features such as the graffitti wall etc.

If you wish to contribute towards the cost of our website (not a lot) you will gain access to extra features such as being able to post news articles on the main page(s).
If you wish to contribute towards the cost of the server (a bit more) you will be given the admin password and be able to change server-settings and kick people. In the meantime, if you have a problem with anybody abusing the server, please report it in our IRC chatroom or contact one of the members on MSN Messenger.
